Our 10 Day RV trip

Well we just got back from a 10 day RV trip. 1st we went to Stephen F. Austin State Park. This park is well maintained and landscaped with very large pull thru sites with full hook ups. There are deer everywhere and they have numerous hiking trails which are also well maintained. This park is on the Brazos River which is accessible for fishing.
Our next stop was in San Antonio at the Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort. This place is awesome and the best RV park we have ever been to. Its next to Sea World and they have a shuttle bus to get you there and back. They have a very nice swimming pool, game room, Tv lounge, store, as well as clean restrooms. We only stayed one day so didn't really do any tourist stuff.
Our 3rd stop was our initial destination. It was Neals Lodge which has several Rv sites with full hook ups and also rents cabins. Its nothing fancy but its on the Frio River which is the main reason families come here. My children are the 4th generation of our family to go to Neals Lodges. They have a store with most items but limited. They also have a very nice Diner which is very good. Neals Lodges rents tubes for tubing the river and also has a nightly hayride.

Our last stop was back to San Antonio and Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort. While here this time we went to Sea World and Six Flags and the River Walk and just did tourist stuff.

When we got to Neals lodges in Concan, Texas our vacation was complete. This is the place we look forward to coming every year. Our children are the 4th generation that have come to Neals lodges. My Grandparents started coming here in the 1930's.

The Frio River was really low this year but there were still cold springs coming out of the ground so it was OK for us.

On our way to Concan, Texas we stopped at Travelers World in San Antonio for a night. Its a nice park with a playground and a pool.
They also have a game room with air hockey, pool table and some video games.

During the Holidays we went to Rusk, Texas to ride on The Texas State Rail Road. It was called the "Polar Express" just like the movie and it was awesome. Not only did the kids have a great time but so did the Adults.

The park in Rusk used to be a State Park but the State Railroad took it over. All the sites are pull-thru's and have full hook-ups. For the Polar Express train ride you have to go to the park in Palestine to get on the train.

To make things even better we had bought a 2009 Keystone Everest. It has 2 bedrooms (1 is a bunk house) and a bath and a half. It also has 3 slide outs.

One of the most kid friendly campgrounds we have been to is Jellystone Park in Waller, Texas.

Our Son just loved this place because it had fishing a Water Park and Minature Golf.

But most of all he got to shake hands and have Birthday Cake and Ice Cream with Yogi Bear!

Our very favorite place to go is Concan, Texas which is on the spring fed Frio River at Neals Lodges. I have been coming here all my life. My kids are the 4th generation of my family to come to this part of the Texas Hill Country.

This is one place we will without a doubt go every summer. The kids just love playing in the river and Jena and myself love the beauty of the landscape.

We mostly prefer to camp in the wild outdoors but on occasion we will stay at an RV park. We stayed at the KOA right outside of Conroe, Texas.

It had a very nice and large indoor pool. It also had a kiddy pool.

There was a small pond with a pier for fishing.

We had a very nice time here and the small town of Montgomery, Texas was great for shopping and relaxing in a small town atmoshere.

Double Lakes is our favorite regular campground. Jake really likes it because its out in the Sam Houston National Forest and he likes to take walks and just look at the tree's and wildlife.

The sites for the pull-thru's have you facing the tree's so you don't have to look at your neighbors RV.

There is also 2 lakes for fishing or swimming.

Each site has a picnic table and fire pit.

Our next trip was Quintana Beach on the Gulf Coast. Its one of the best beaches we've been to so far.

This County Park has a very nice play ground for the kids.

It also has some beautiful sunrise's.

Our first trip was to Wolf Creek Park on Lake Livingston. This was our maiden voyage to work out any bugs on the new travel trailer. It could'nt have been better, every thing worked as advertised. This trip was without my Daughter but my Son had a blast. He loved the play ground and just throwing rocks into the lake was all he needed to be happy.

About 2 years ago my wife and myself decided to buy a Travel Trailer. I had done quite a bit of camping growing up but mostly in tents. Well, my wife wasn't going to have anything to do with tent camping so we compromised on a RV. This was without a doubt luxury camping for me but it had all the amenities that my wife needed in order for us to be in the great outdoors. Our first Rv was a 33ft 2007 8317ss Rockwood by Forest River with a Bunk House for the kids.

Our Son just loves to go camping any chance he can even though he is only 5 years old. My daughter also likes to go although she is 18 and has other interest as you might assume a teenage girl would.

I am just starting this Blog so I am going to have to start our journey from 2 years ago when it all started. I will be going through each of our trips with pictures. I will eventually get you up to date with our new upgrades so stay tuned.
